New Look, Prizes and Awards

1) Okay last week was quite the week. We survived Alex being sick all week... the medicine that was supposed to be getting her better; yeah she was suffering the side affects. Luckily, after a call to the Dr. she isn't taking it anymore and seems to be doing fine now. The part that drives me the most crazy, is that from the start I just didn't feel good about it and knew it was causing problems.. but I just brushed that feeling aside and figured it was because she was still sick still. Mommy's do know.

2) I obviously have a very new look. Do you love it?? I do! I have been wanting to redesign my blog for a while now and kept thinking I would take a crack at it, but well let's just be honest, I didn't and wasn't taking the time to do it.

So I entered a contest for a gift certificate towards a blog makeover at Beautiful Blog Design. She has a great site that features great blog looks, lists blog designers, and gives great design tips too. So I entered the contest and I won! Then I began my work with Louise at Adori Graphics

She is actually on the other side of the big blue, but that didn't slow down the work process at all. In fact, when she was ready to install my blog, it was early early in the morning here so it didn't interfere with me one bit. She responded to my e-mails very quickly and her prices are great. Definitely check out her site if you want some blog redesign.

3) I have been in the market for a baby sling; let's face it with two other kids running around I know I am going to need to keep number three safe and going to need to have my hands free at times. So when I saw that Future Mama at Baby Makin(g) Machine was hosting a giveaway for a gift certificate to Clementine Rose, who has so many cute things including slings, I knew I had to enter. I figured it was a long shot as Future Mama's site is awesome and she has a ton of followers, but I won!!

I had some questions about the slings and emailed Lana from Clementine Rose and she was great! She got back to me immediately and answered my questions and then some. The sling came quickly and I am excited to try it out in a few months.

4) I have gotten 4 blog awards in the last week!! I am so grateful for them and will post about them here soon. I just have to admit, I can only remember where three of them came from. :( One is from one of the blogs that I have found more recently. So if you left me an award recently, just leave a comment here so when I post the awards I can recognize yours too. It makes me so mad that I can't remember where it came from and can't find it.

5) If you saw our Time For Tot's from last week, you saw Alex's Movie Box which tells a spooky ghost story. She probably got the inspiration from our dinner table. Every night the kids ask Eric to tell a story, usually a new story, i.e put daddy on the spot to create one. This last week they wanted one of their favorites, The Coughing Ghost.. and since Alex was sick, well she had the perfect sound effects... So here is a little peek into what our dinners are often like.

  3. It's a great new look! Congrats, how fun! I'm a big fan of our Bjorn carrier... but I haven't tried a "sling", you'll have to let me know how well you like yours (not expecting, but will probably have another one sometime).

  5. Love the new look! Cute video! My husband usually uses our dinner time to try to teach the kids jokes. Last night is was "why is 6 afraid of 7?" yeah, the kids didn't get the punchline...

  14. I LOVE LOVE LOVE the new blog look... in fact, I'm trying to picture what the old one looked like and can't remember! How funny! I've been working on a new look as well, and it is supposed to be uploaded tonight (however, I will NOT be holding my breath with this designer!). I'm so excited... why is it that this is so exciting to us?

4 Blog awards in 1 week! AWESOME! And, a baby sling! Awesome! However, I only see 2 kids in that "family" pic... did you have another, or are you pregnant now!?!? SOOO exciting~!!!!!!!!!!!!!

PS - I just noticed, "Photography" is misspelled on your main header... I'm sure it's all 'in the making' and was overlooked, but I hope you'd let me know if the roles were reversed!

Can't wait to hear about #3, Emmy!!!

  18. You are on quite the winning streak! Woo hoo! And I think I told you before how much I like your new look! She did a great job.

And I tried a bunch of different slings and frankly none of them worked for me. I think I somehow expected that I wouldn't actually FEEL the baby hanging off me but I did. Of course, you need an engineering degree to use them I think. I'm glad you won one!
