There was a sleepover party when I was getting too "old and cool" for a regular party
And there were the highschool birthday parties with 60+ guests crammed into my parents house.
Looking back I really wonder how my mom did it- as honestly, if my kids did not ask for friend parties, let's just say they would not happen. In fact, Alex has only had one friend party and Lucas is about to have his second.
As you may know from some of my recent posts- I have been all kinds of crazy busy lately; so the thought of throwing Lucas a friends party had me shaking in the corner. But this was a big year- he is turning 8th on the 8th and 8 is huge in my church as this is the age when they get baptized.
I began looking at ideas on pinterest and started getting some awesome and crazy ideas that would have left me having a nervous breakdown at the end but he was loving the ideas; but then a moment of inspiration (and my husband reigning me in) struck and we decided to have a bowling party.
Entertainment, food, even the goodie bags all provided by the bowling alley- all I have to do is make a cake. Yes, it may have cost a little more (than again maybe not with all of the ideas I was getting)- but it will be easy and I am not shaking in the corner.
And at least out party will not involve any alligators.
Alligators you say? Have you not heard the latest trend in Florida where a guy will bring a baby alligator to your house to swim with your kids at their pool party? The alligator's mouth is tapped shut of course- so perfectly safe. No joke, it has become the latest trend for only $175.
