Ten Things to Smile About This Month: January

A new year so a new chance to link up with 10 Things to Smile About!  This is a monthly meme I do the last Tuesday of every month.  It is your chance to look back over the month and find 10 things that made you smile.  Simple things like a pretty sunset, or a new purse you bought to the more profound, whatever you would like.  I started this after a really hard month when I needed to find something good to smile about.

Weird reflection as I was shooting through glass
7. Family night at Chuck-E-Cheese (I enjoy this place actually when it isn't crowded)

8. Getting to hang out with my bestie CA Girl for a day; who says she is going to start blogging more regularly again, so head over to her blog to help keep her going!

9. Seeing how much fun the kids and especially my husband are having with our new basketball hoop.  I think it really means a lot to Eric to have kids like playing basketball.

10. The little moments in life and finding joy in small things, like jumping over the cracks in sidewalks.  Life can sometimes be so simply sweet.

  5. Fabulous list, and fabulous pictures, as always! What wonderful reasons to smile :) My neighbour had a basketball hoop when we were kids, and I loved going over to their paved driveway (ours was gravel and no good for bouncing basketballs) - and shooting hoops. I was terrible at it, and that's as far as my love for basketball ever went, but it's a fond childhood memory when I look back on it. Just running around that driveway and shooting hoops until it got too dark to see!

    1. Our driveway was gravel too growing up, all but a little section right before the garage, where we had a hoop but I don’t know if I ever shot at it, I think i thought it was my brother’s thing.

  6. Yup, had every intention of doing this and forget. I forgot, you forget? Happens to me.. lol. Sorry quote from my husband!

Very cool about Lucas' artwork! I just learned who that person was yesterday. Also cool that the kids all enjoy bball because isn't Eric really big into that? And that's a great shot of Alex although that reflection is priceless!

    1. But you did it today! It totally doesn’t have to be done on the exact day, that is why I leave the linky open for a week and a half :)
Eric definitely is big into basketball. Played all through high school and got recruited by some small colleges. He plays on a city league now

    1. I know! I was surprised as she is actually horribly shy (even around me who she sees pretty regularly) so often will run and hide from a camera.
