12 Days of Christmas: A Way to Give Back

I know it is November, but Christmas will be here before we know it; for me that means time to start figuring out how to make the Christmas season more meaningful.  It is easy for it all just to rush by, but I want my children to really feel the true meaning of Christmas, truly think of others, truly give.  Something perfect for that is the 12 Days of Christmas.

Fellow blogger and now published author Marianne Baker Ball of Adventures in the Ball Park, has written a book The 12 Days of Christmas Adventure.

The Book:
It's based on giving 12 gifts over the course of 12 days to someone who's had a rough year. Marianne says, "we were given this gift in 1993 and it forever changed the way our family did Christmas.
The gifts are based on the lyrics of the carol The Twelve Days of Christmas, and the book contains 100+ gifts ideas (many simple and homemade) that fit the bill.  It's an easy colorful read and is designed to get kids looking outward over the holiday season instead of just thinking about getting.
It's a great project for homeschoolers, youth groups, families, couples, individuals, anyone really. (Our local Catholic high school has adopted the project.)"

I love that Marianne has turned this into a meaningful project over the years that her family has participate in.  It is so awesome to see the reach it has had and I am so proud of her for fulfilling one of her dreams of writing a book and getting it published!

As  you begin planning your Christmas season and ways your family can give back more, I recommend the 12 Days of Christmas Adventure.
