Cleaning

I have never been a neat freak. Maybe it spurs back to my childhood where my mom, bless her, rather than fight with us would just clean it herself. Maybe it is because I have two kids that seem to get out more stuff than I can get cleaned up. Let's just say cleaning has never been my number one priority.
Our new home was professionally cleaned before we moved in and when something is already so clean and nice it makes me want to keep it that way. So today we started a new tradition, the Saturday Family Clean. Every Saturday we plan to spend 45 minutes cleaning. We will increase it to an hour as the kids get bigger. We even set the timer and then away we go. The kids had fun wiping down the doorknobs, dusting and vacuuming. I tackled the kitchen and gave it a good deep clean. The funny thing about cleaning, as much as I don't like it, once I get started I don't want to stop. If I ever get in the cleaning mood, watch out I will soon have the whole house cleaned!
And I must admit I love having a clean house. I love the fact that so far (knock on wood) I don't have piles sitting around this house. How do you get rid of piles once they form???
So I am typing this looking around and admiring my nice clean house.
