Missteps and Misadventures

The past six days have been wonderfully fun! Grandma's and Grandpas, cousins and aunts all helped contribute to a lot of fun. (I will post pictures soon) But things can't always go perfectly.

Watch the following clip closely, especially watch the boy wearing shorts. Sorry for the thumb my mother-in-law is still getting used to her camera.

What is the first thing you think when you see this? Does your heart just jump and you want to say, Oh too close!! Just take a step back? Well if you think that then your instincts are right on. Minutes after this video was shot, this was the result.

We have gone to this duck pond many times, each time pushing our luck so close to the water. This time poor Ryan wasn't so lucky and he ended up in the pond! I was standing right there when it happened. It all seemed to happen in slow motion.

Suddenly Splash! "Ryan, Ryan" I heard many people shouting, including myself. He was desperately dog paddling. "Oh my gosh what should I do?" seemed to slowly go through my head. I turned around to help just as his mom jumped in.

In the end everyone was just fine. Ryan was quite brave, a kind stranger provided an airplane blanket for comfort and warmth and all of the kids, including Ryan, were able to eat lunch and some how not lose it while rolling down a big hill.

Sometimes days with a little less excitement are more preferable.
