Kids Book Review Wednesday

Lucas did a super good job helping me pack last week and so he got three stories before nap quiet time. One of the stories I grabbed off the shelf was Love You Forever by Robert Munsch.

For any mom or dad out there that just wants to pull your hair out everyday some days, you will love this book.

It follows a little boy as he grows up and shows all of the trouble he gets into. But despite all of it his mom still loves him and sneaks into his room, holds him and sings "I'll love you forever, I'll like you for always. As long as I'm living, my baby you'll be".

The book is very sweet and touching and has a bitter sweet ending that will leave you realizing how fast life is and what really matters. And the illustrations by Shelia McGraw are just beautiful.

This book could be read to a younger child but really any age kid will probably appreciate it.

After this sweet touching book, if you are needing to laugh, you will probably get a good laugh from one of Munsch's other books Alligator Baby.

Don't forget you can always check out past selections at the tab on the top of my blog or here.

  1. My mom used to read this book to me and cry at the end. I would always think, "What in the world is she crying for? It's just a book."

As a mom, now I know.

  2. We LOVE Robert Munsch at our house. I think that our favorite is stinky socks. But all are good.
