Queens for the Day

Lucas started preschool yesterday. We are definitely going to need some time to adjust to this. It is three days a week from 11:45-2:30. We skipped snacks, ate an early lunch and made it just on time. I put Alex down for her nap early in hopes that she would sleep some before we had to pick up Lucas and she did!! She even slept more in the car when we had to pick up Lucas!

While Lucas was gone, Alex kept locking doors and hiding things, "so Lucas can't get them". I kept reminding her that he wasn't home right now. "Lucas at school?" She would question. "Yep, he's at preschool." "When do I get to go to school?" All too soon, I thought.

Alex and I entertained ourselves by making crowns. We were the queens of the house. It wasn't much quieter than usual as Alex tried to make up for the quiet by talking twice as much. So she was talking every second instead of every other second. It's really fun when both are home and talking every second, let's just say I have gotten good at tuning things out.
So another change, another adjustment... another awesome BYU win (had to throw that in there) and life is good.
And yes my crown is on upside down

  1. Aww. One on one time is the best! I love when I get time alone with one child. Looks like you made the best of it. So cute.

  2. So cute. She is adorable and I love your crowns. My little neice use to ask all the time, when can I go to school, once her sisters started. It was the cutest thing to see how eager they are to grow up. I tell my son all the time, stay small, stay a kid for as long as possible!!

  3. when i think about the future of adding more kids, school, activities sometimes i wonder how i will get everyone where they need to be without becoming the parent that never has any time to sit down and play with my kids. love the crowns. we are almost to the "project" stage, but not yet...

  10. So fun.

And, seriously, who came up with those preschool times? Someone who has never met a child before?
