Muffin Top Journey

Okay so I know I said I was going to post the cooking club reviews today, but Eric took a much needed day off yesterday and we went to the zoo after we picked Lucas up from school. Plus this was my first official week on the Muffin to Skinny Pants journey so I didn't want to start off on a bad foot, as let's be honest my follow through is going to be my biggest challenge. So Cooking Club August reviews will come tomorrow.
weightloss

This week Shortmama asks, how do you stay on track with the change of the seasons? At first I thought, I don't think my diet really changes with the seasons. But then shortmama mentioned that fruit prices go up. I know I sometimes am not the best with buying fresh fruit as it is. We almost always have the basic apples and bananas but it only is when the others are on sale that I branch out. So I think I am going to have to make sure I make room in my budget to keep buying fruit, as well I need to stay regular if you know what I mean.

Also as it gets cooler, I am not as hot so have a tendency to drink way less water and this is a big no-no. So keeping up my water will be vital with the season change.

And this season change that is about to happen is a horrible one for diets, can anyone say Halloween, Thanksgiving? So if I really do want to lose my muffin top, which I do..I am going to have to try extra hard to go easy on the sweet stuff. Already with this labor day weekend I might have over indulged a bit and it isn't even one of the big holidays.

If you are sick of your muffin top like me, head over to Shortmamas and join in the journey.

And be keeping track of those funny facebook status, as next Tuesday will be the debut of CA Girl's and my new meme, The Staus Quote. This will be your chance to post those funny, weird and interesting things you read on Facebook (or Twitter) so we can all have a good laugh. And no need to say whose status it was,to save those who posted it from embarrassment, you can just simply list a bunch of quotes you have seen. See, how easy and fun will that be! And if we are facebook friends, well you might just see something you said posted.

  4. I never really thought about the fruit prices, just that it doesn't taste as good in the fall/winter. Hmm.

  5. Crap. I didn't even think about the water intake. I'll have to watch that too!

  7. I'm hoping that I'll be able to keep up my fruit and veggie consumption since I've started doing the "Bountiful Basket" thing. Sometimes the prices are just outrageous, for fruit that's not even very good in the winter time!

  8. One of my weaknesses that keeps me muffin toppy is cheese. I keep telling myself that even if I cut the amount of cheese I eat each day in half, I'd be loosing a TON of fat and calories!!!!!!

I think the Status Quote meme sounds hilarious!

  10. Is there a men's version of this challenge? What is a man's muffin top called?

Are we faceboook friends? I'm not even sure.

  11. Wow, you made some good points! I never thought about the changes in the way I eat by season...but you are right!

And yes, I need to drink more water even when it's not 90 degrees out!

  12. You can do it! The holidays will make it super tough, but you can do it! Part of me and my hubby's lifestyle consists of a "cheat day". We eat well and small portions for 6 days out of the week... then on the seventh day we "cheat" (eat stuff we normally wouldn't, snack if we want to, drink a soda with dinner, etc.) It really helps to curb my cravings for junk. I know that I can eat the terrible stuff on that one day! It really tricks your body too. It gets accustom to you eating better and adjusts your metabolism accordingly. Then on your cheat day your body goes nuts with the extra calories and kicks your metabolism up. Then it works really hard for the next couple of days trying to figure it all out. It sounds crazy, but it really works! I know you have to be careful though while you are nursing. Can't wait to hear your progress!

  13. Two bad things happened this past week that are muffin-top growing.
    1) Keith is learning his colors. This means we have TONS of M&Ms around. It seems they are the only thing that he will pay attention to. So he sorts, and he finds colors, and he shares the colors he finds. And what kind of mother would I be if I didn't eat what my son shared with me.
    2) I have the World's Worst Cold. It hit last Saturday and has just gained momentum since then. So everything but hot cocoa tastes funny and hurts my throat. And water tastes the worst of it all. So, as soon as this cold is out of the way, I am going to try again in earnest. :) Good excuses, right?

  14. I can come up with a reason to have a problem with dieting in almost EVERY season. Thought the holidays are particularly hard.
