A Chicken with No Head

Wake up, get dressed, get three other people dressed, get four people fed, get snack ready, make sure everyone has everything, fix hair for two kids, find shoes and socks, get three kids loaded in the car, drop Lucas off at school, drop Alex off at preschool, come home change and fed Ryder, meet Lourie at the thrift store for some fun shopping, swing by Walmart for birthday supplies, pick up kids, lunch, homework, return library books that are due today....

That was the plan, that very very long probably run on sentence was supposed to be my morning yesterday. Instead everything came to a screeching halt when Alex threw up in the morning. No more preschool no more shopping.

So now one day before Lucas birthday I suddenly have a lot more to do. Luckily I have two days until his birthday party but have I planned the games... um sort of. I do have a plan for the cake (an airport complete with runway and control tower--yes I will post pictures), I just need to go buy everything I need for it.

Plus I have a list of about ten things I need to do for my photography business, I am editing the pictures from my latest photo shoot, oh yeah and I should do laundry and clean the house.

I need that day back.

So while I am running around desperately scrambling, go check out Lourie's Two Truths and a lie, or Shortmama's Letters to Someone or The Daily Dribbles Thank you Very Much Thursday's, those are my favorite things to read on Thursdays.

  1. Once I was crazy busy when I only had my two little boys and I remember crying one night, praying that God would just slow things down a little bit for me. Two days later one came down with chicken pox. The other one took two weeks before he got it. I didn't go anywhere for a month. Thank you and Amen.

  5. I hear you! I had a list somewhat like that (minus 2 kids) for yesterday, but that all went down the drain when Miyah decided to wake up and not go back to sleep from 12-3am. Then she got up at 6, and we fell back asleep at 7 and slept until 10:30. I'm grateful I can do that since I only have 1 child, but yes life if crazy when your day is thrown off by the unexpected! Good luck getting everything done!

  12. Hate, hate, hate it when that happens. How sad. Having so much to do but not being able to do it always makes me feel horrible. I wish you the most luck on accomplishing everything before the party. It sounds like it will be magical.
