Visiting Las Vegas-Family Style

While we didn't truly crawl off for an adventure, as I said on Monday-we did drive to one. This is my kids second week of spring break and we decided to make the most of it and headed to Vegas for a few days. Eric was so happy to finally be able to take a little vacation after the insane amount of work he has had to do this year.

Vegas with three little kids is much different than Vegas with a bunch of adults... though I don't smoke, drink or gamble.. so maybe it wouldn't be too different for me.

So what in the world is there to do in Vegas with a bunch of kids?

We had fun at the local children's museum.
Alex could have stayed in the grocery store for hours and Ryder opened and closed those doors for nearly twenty minutes.

Alex experienced hurricane force winds and Lucas enjoyed the science behind everything.

We also spent time seeing Vegas from the top. Literally-when we went to the Stratosphere.
We enjoyed the almost perfect weather

Eating dinner outside

And lots of swimming. The weather really was almost perfect except for the 40 mph wind gusts one of the days.
And then there was the last night-where Ryder started getting sick. He was stuffy, coughing and burning up and just plain miserable. He pretty much only slept that night if he was in either Eric or my arms. It was a very long-or short-night. And he topped it off by throwing up his favorite food-avocado the next morning.

Luckily being back home seems to already be helping him feel better.
It was fun to get away and we have just a few more days of spring break until things get back to normal again.

  5. So many people think that Vegas is just for grown ups, but everytime we go (we have relatives) it's family time. There is as much stuff or more for kids there!! So fun!

  9. I hope he is feeling better. And even more so that the rest of you stay healthy. Aside from sick, it sounds like it was a great vacation of play.

  10. FUN!!! Well, except the Ryder getting sick part.
Glad he's already feeling better, though!
We went to the Stratosphere the first time we went to Vegas too, and I am so scared of heights I was holding onto anything and everything I could. My kids loved it MUCH more than I did...

  14. You are brave. For me, if it is not 90 degrees, then it is too cold for swimming. But my husband went last week at the Mandalay Bay and had a really great time.

  16. Did you guys stay in a hotel AND cook your own dinner or is that a condo? Glad you had nice weather!

  19. We did Vegas too and went to that same museum. Oddly enough, vomiting also followed that trip. Hmmm mm. I love Vegas and I think it can be great for families.
