A Post About Feet

After yesterday's post when I showed you this picture of my feet and my 7-year-olds feet
many of you were wondering how small my feet were.

Actually the correct question should have been how big my son's feet are.

I am quite average, coming in right around 5'5" with size 7 to 7 1/2 feet.   The average size shoe in the United States for women is 8 (for men 10 1/2).  In fact approximately 68% of American women wear shoes between 6 1/2 and 9 1/2.

My seven-year-old, his feet currently come in at a size 3.

He definitely takes after his daddy more than he does me.  And his daddy- well here are my feet by my husbands.
The average shoe size for a adult man in the US is 10 1/2

Eric, his feet come in at a whopping 15.

So yes, there is a reason I say Lucas will probably pass me up before he is out of elementary school.  But have no doubt- I may be the smallest- but I will still be in charge.

  4. Ha! That last picture is hilarious. My 8 year old- who just turned 8 last week- wears a size 5. He too is going to be a big boy.

  13. Too funny!!

I wear a size 8 and without even doing the research or reading your post, I knew it had to be the most popular size, because I can't ever find the shoes I want in my size, let alone those on sale or clearance!

We have a friend that has really big feet (he's very tall). When he needs to buy shoes, he walks into the store and before looking, he just asks what styles they have in his size.

  18. I can still remember the year Eric's feet took off...from a 10 in the Spring, to a 12 by June, to a 14 by August. And then they just kept on going. I wear an 11...what can I say. We do big in our family...And YES, Emily...the mama will always still be in charge...Go Emmy!

  19. Size 15! Wow! I have tiny feet (5 1/2) and I have to sometimes buy my shoes in the little girl aisle. It's kind of sad at times.
