Wordful Wednesday: The Threat

This year we decided to buy Knotts Berry Farm season passes.  It just seems like if you live in Southern California you are supposed to do something fun like that.  We thought about buying Disney passes, but we could get passes for our entire family for a little more than the price of one Disney season pass and we have no blackout dates or restrictions, not to mention it is way less crowded.

To say we have taken advantage of our seasons passes might be an understatement.

We have already gone 10 times this year.
We take a picture by the same wagon right before we leave every time
Here is time number 10 just this weekend.

Some of these times may have been just for a few hours; twice we had to leave because of a sick kid; one time throw-up and one time diarrhea, yep keeping it real.

My favorite thing about having season passes is the freedom to just come and go, even coming for just a few hours in the morning or afternoon.

With that freedom comes absolute cosmic power! (Aladdin anyone?)

What absolute power do I speak of?  The power to follow through with THE threat.

You know the one, "if you don't start behaving we are going to leave!"

Come on admit it, I think we have all said that at least once in our lives, knowing all too well that we aren't actually going to leave since we will give them "just one more chance".

But now- we can.  Kids misbehaving, that's it we are done for the day.

Ah!  I love being so powerful.

Have you ever threatened to leave some place and have you followed through?

Linking up with Wordful Wednesday

P.S. Heartfelt Acts will be tomorrow!!

  1. That place looks so fun! I think one of these days my family is going to have to take a month and travel up and down California! There is so much to see and do!

I for one have made the threat and followed through. It is rather intoxicating to be so powerful! *insert evil laugh*

  3. It's most awesome for the kids to see mom and dad act like kids. They'll never forget that stuff.

  4. The power of the threat... ahh... yes. It is a wonderful tool to wield for sure! I don't think that I've ever followed through with it though... maybe it was because I haven't had to yet or because I just give in! Could be both I supposed.

  7. I wish there was more to do around these parts with the nephews - Knotts Berry Farm would've been perfect! That's it, we all must pick up and move on over to California!!

Anyway, your photos are adorable - and I love that you grab one in the same spot at the end of each trip! Hope you're having a wonderful week!

  9. Ha! That's great! And so true - that was always an empty threat coming from my mouth. How fun that you're actually able to follow through without feeling like you've wasted your money! Score one: Emmy!

  14. I think that's a standard line that all parents use! LOVE that. And I love Knott's Berry Farm. We lived in Anaheim for a brief time in the early nineties.

Great photos! Y'all will have lots of fun there this summer.

  15. I love that you can follow through with the threat. It's so true. I remember my parents saying they'd turn the car around, and I remember knowing there was no way they would, because we'd be like 4 hours into a road trip. :-)
Knotts Berry looks like an absolute blast!
