Your Favorite Chick Flick

Yesterday between driving matchbox cars, playing with GeoTrax and playing games like Pop the Pirate (always scream when that dumb thing pops)

I was working on the book I am writing.  Lately the ideas have just been flowing and coming quickly.  I am not always writing it in chronological order and the other day after I wrote a part that will be near the end, I felt that readers high that I get when I just cannot put a book down.  The more I write, the more I want to hurry and get it done so I can share it!

Sometimes as I am writing my mind will blank on little things, like where a good restaurant that characters should eat at, or a good chick flick.

In those moments, I often take to Facebook.  Yesterday I did just that asking: "Favorite Chick Flick, ready go!"

The responses soon came pouring in.  Everything from Pride and Prejudice, to While you Were Sleeping, lots of votes for The Notebook and some classics I have never even heard of like Roman Holiday.  All of the suggestions were coming from girls, until my brother stepped in.
The Notebook got lots of votes
"Which one is the shortest?" he asked.

My brother-in-law was next: "star wars. because. chewy"

Then an old-time family friend piped in with his vote of "Robocop"

So lesson learned, don't ask men for advice on good chick flicks.

By the way, what is your favorite chick flick?

Oh, and in my book I think I am going to use While You Were Sleeping as it's the reason Eric so desperately wanted to buy a hot dog from  street vendor when we went to Chicago this last summer.

  1. Ha! I could see Hubs saying something like that.

I love Sweet Home Alabama and How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days. I've seen both of those so many times.

  4. Ohhh, I need to start writing again! I need to feel that rush!! Good for you :)

Your brother sounds like my brother. lol I forced him years ago to watch Twilight with me, and when it was over, he turned, looked at me with this blank face, and said, "That movie combines the three things I hate MOST in movies... vampires. love. and sparkling." LOL

I have a hard time picking one chick flick...eeek... The Notebook is definitely up there! I also ADORE PS I love You... but if I'm going with all-time fave, I'm gonna pick Pretty Woman! :)

    1. Yea, I don't think any of my brothers have watched Twlight. My husband did though and also thought okay, but then after some convincing he read the books and is a fan now too :)

  5. I am a huge Audrey Hepburn fan so I'm going to have to agree with the Roman Holiday vote and add in Breakfast at Tiffanys.

  7. That is a tough question! It's like asking someone what their favorite song is! The notebook is just too sad for me. I watched it once and was like, NEVER AGAIN! I do NOT like to cry!

    1. It has been a long time since I have seen the Notebook, I honestly can't totally remember it, guess that means I need to see it again, or should read it.

  11. I know I've seen that movie but I can't remember what it's about. I loved Pretty Woman and that's why I had to buy a Snap Dog (hot dog) from a street vendor in NYC :)
