Ten Things to Smile About in March

This month almost has a week left but it is the last Tuesday of the month, so time for 10 Things to Smile About! (#10Things) I started this meme after a really hard month, where I just needed to look back and find things to smile about.  The linky will be open for almost 2 weeks, so plenty of time to sign up.

Ten Things to Smile About in March

1.  Celebrating my husband's birthday!  This is the 13th time we have celebrated his birthday together and I look forward to celebrating many many more together.

2. Despite me saying I would never sign Lucas up for soccer again, I did- he is doing really well and has not complained, even the slightest bit once!  Miracles do happen!

3. Multiple date nights this month, including a fancy dinner and got to see Divergent (really liked it by the way)
4. Ryder giving his first talk in primary

5. Belonging to a church that not only gives me so many great opportunities to serve, but brings me peace, hope, and a knowledge of who I really am and what this life is about, plus so many great friendships.

6. Getting to see my bestie!

7. Animal style french fries!
In and Out Burger
See those fries smothered with yummy goodness in the background!
8. A wonderful and relaxing spring break that actually made me really excited for summer.

9. I got a time out and loved it!  Spent a wonderful weekend at Time Out For Women; so many amazing inspirational talks and music, just totally recharged me.  Plus spent what, if I am remembering correctly, was my first solo overnight away since having kids; though I wasn't totally alone as I stayed with two great friends and we stayed up talking way too late into the night.

10. The fact that I have the best husband as when I was away for the event mentioned in #9, he and the kids camped in the backyard, got donuts for breakfast, he helped Lucas get his pinewood derby car cut out and he cleaned the house.  Oh and he took pictures of it all!! I think I should go away more often ;)
What made you smile in March?  Come join in, love seeing all of your lists!

  1. They look so excited to be camping! :) I always wanted to do that as a kid...camping in the backyard, but we never had camping gear!

Did your husband get golf clubs for his birthday? That's the only thing I could think of that would require a box that long. :)

    1. It is actually a thing called Anki drive- it is a flat race track with these little cars that you control with your iPad or iPhone, the cars are actually sort of intelligent and will go around each other and improve as you win races and upgrade them

  2. Sounds like you had a great month. Yay for multiple date nights- we got to do that in March, too!

I've never had animal fries- what is on them?

It always makes me smile when I see you and Lourie get to hang out together. I wish I could be there!

    1. They are at In & Out— part of the secret menu, it is cheese, onion, chili I believe… and some other stuff, I honestly can’t remember, going to have to google to find out.

That would be so fun if you could hang out with Lourie and I!

  3. Camping in the backyard with close access to the indoors would be the only way to go for me!

And did your husband get the little piano for his bday?

    1. Yes, and only one night of it, I can handle that kind of camping myself. Nope, not a little piano, it is Anki drive- this trace track that has little race cars that your run with your iPad or iPhone that are actually quite smart and know to go around each other, they are pretty cool.

  4. Looks like you had a great month! Love that you had a great spring break and you had time to relax. I'm glad Lucas is having a good time with soccer on the 2nd try. It's a great sport but miserable for everyone if you don't want to be there

    1. Yes, this is about the 4th of 5th time he has played, just every time got a little worse until I swore after last season that I would never sign him up again.. but this time he is awesome.

  5. So glad we got together. Yesterday would not have worked out after all. Ryan is sick! Boo. Back to happier notes. I still can't get over the fact that Ryder is giving talks now. It is mind blowing how fast time has gone. Eric is so cool to have done a camp out with the kiddos. :)

    1. Oh good thing we got together the week before, the kids would have been so disappointed if we had to cancel last minute— or if we had been there then Ryan got sick, ewe! ;) Eric is definitely cool

    1. It is an In & Out thing- part of their secret menu, basically fries covered with cheese, onions, and a bunch of other stuff that I suddenly can’t remember- they are tasty though!

    1. Oh you will have to let me know what you think about it. It was a nice dinner, though sadly the food wasn’t nearly as good as it looked, or should have been for the cost
