First Day of School Pictures: 2015

Last Thursday my kids started school!  Yes I am still in shock about it.  We are now in the full swing of it, homework and all, so it was definitely time to share our first day of school pictures.

Lucas is in 5th grade! I really am in denial that this is his last year of elementary and next year is the dreaded middle school.

I have no doubt he will do wonderfully this year and am so proud of all of the growth he has had since his rough beginning to school.  The past year his maturity, his understanding, and just his ability to relate with things has exploded and he really is becoming one of my best friends.

My red-headed daughter, who is loud and lives life with gusto, who I sometimes butt heads with... but at school magically transforms into this quiet, polite hard working student adored by her teachers and peers.

We are all so happy that she got the teacher she really wanted and I know it will be another great year.

Finally Ryder, my baby, though yes he will quickly object to me calling him that.  I cannot believe he is starting kindergarten!  I now know that once this school journey begins it just is a blur from this point out.  It will all go too fast.

He got the same teacher as his best friend and is excited about school.  When I watch him walk into the school with his brother and sister he seems so small to me, but he is ready.

Here's to praying for another great school year.

Where you live, do you call it middle school or junior high?  Just curious.

  1. They're adorable! mine start this coming Monday and orientation is Friday. I "requested" a teacher because Elliot's 2nd grade one was pretty bad so I hope he gets her or at least one of the other decent ones. I have high hopes for 3rd grade!

  2. They are so cute! I hope they all have a great year!
I always forget that our older two kids are the same age. Dylan is starting 5th Grade this year. He'll be in a new building that's just 5th and 6th grade, but I don't think they call it middle school until they move to the 7th and 8th grade building.

  5. Wow! Back to school already!! School doesn't start here until Aug 31st, so I still have a few weeks to go before I have to cry seeing the little ones out waiting for the buses on my way to work. ;)
I live in a pretty small town, elementary school goes from Pre-K to Grade 6, then they have to bus out of town to high school, Grade 7-11. No middle school or junior high for the kids around here!

  6. I always thought Jr. High was 7-9 and middle school was 6-8 or 7-8. Maybe that's not always true though. ..

  7. I just think having all your kids in one school is such a wonderful thing. Kind of a magic year. I know I would have loved that. All three are so cute and growing up. CRAZY!
