Dilemma solved!

Well, today when Alex woke up pulling on her ear and asking for ice (her magic solution for any owwie)... I knew my dilemma had been solved, it was time to go to the doctor. Luckily I had talked with some girls at church about good pediatricians and only one they recommended also took my insurance, so the choice was easy. Eric was home today, as he is now on his way to Texas, so that also solved the dilemma of what to do with the other child--he stayed home with daddy.
So I looked up how to get the doctor on google maps and off we went. I thought the building was on the right side of the road but it seemed like I was going too far so I pulled into a parking lot to check where I needed to go, and low and behold it was the right building! This was a little blessing, especially since at that exact moment Alex was throwing up. And of course what did she have to drink that morning, purple grape juice and it came out rather forcefully.. so well you can get the picture.
We pull into a parking spot and I climb back to help her out. Luckily (another tender mercy coming up), before leaving for the doctors I thought, I should throw in her pajamas just in case she needs to be changed.... so yeah! I had clothes to change her into, they were her pajamas, but hey she was sick and at least I wasn't in mine!
So we made it into the doctor, who I am very happy with by the way, and sure enough DOUBLE ear infection and she is all weezey in the chest so Amoxicillin and inhaler. Luckily my kids are very strange and both like taking medicine, so I don't think this will be a problem.

So here I am, both kids are both asleep for the third day in a row!! One benefit to having sick kids I guess. It is raining once again. We discovered that our dinning room window leaks and so there are currently towels trying to soak up the water. Eric is about to get on a plane to go to Texas one last time, however this time he is going to be gone for three days.... but yet somehow I am happy.

Naps--they really do miracles for mommies, oh and that Milkey Way I just ate doesn't hurt either.

  1. Oh Emily! What a story. For some reason it made me tear up because I felt so bad for you that you had Alex throwing up in the car, that Eric is going away for three days and also because it was just plain sweet and your take on it was really nice.

    We love you guys!
