Sin City

At the park this week some kids threw some sand in Lucas' face. He came running to me upset looking for comfort. I gave him a big hug and then told him he should go talk with the boys and tell them not to throw sand. Once he settled down he went back to the play ground and played with some other kids.

On the way home he asked me why the kids threw sand on him. We started talking about people being nice, about mom's teaching their kids to be nice and eventually the conversation led to a talk on strangers and bad people.

Lucas then said: “There are only bad people in Las Vegas.”
“What?” I questioned.
“Daddy told me there are bad people in Las Vegas. So there aren't any here.”
“Yes there are bad people in Las Vegas but there are bad people everywhere.”

He would not budge though, he insisted that is what daddy told him and that he was right. I told him we would have to ask Daddy when he got home. Of course I texted Eric first thing when we got home and informed him of the talk he was going to have to have with Lucas that evening.

Viva Las Vegas!

  4. Sounds like a fun conversation. I had one with Ryan this morning about teenagers and how teenagers start growing up and thinking they know everything and that leads to fighting with parents, etc. It was a result of I was watching Saved By the Bell before I left for work and he woke up and was watching with me! Parenting, always fun.
