Kids Books

Okay the holiday is throwing me off this week but luckily I did realize today is Wednesday, so here is this week's book.

Bed Hogs by Kelly DiPucchio and Howard Fine.

This is one of the random books we found at the library and I as well as my kids fell in love with it.

There are many nursery rhymes and poems that authors will take and make into stories, this book does just that. This story is similar to the five little bears in the bed where the little one says roll over. But this one is with cute and funny pigs. The book flows wonderfully with rhymes throughout.

In case you haven't figured it out by now, I truly do love children's books that rhyme. Plus, this book has things like drooling pigs and stinky feet that will make you and your kids giggle.
Favorite Line:
"Rose, the reigning beauty queen,
is tender pink and sweet.
But more than just a pretty face-
Rose has some stinky feet!
P.U."
DiPucchio's has a great web site that has activity ideas to go along with each of her stories. A definite plus as I know as a mom I sometimes lack in ideas of what to do next. So check out Bed Hogs for some cute pigs and giggles.

  2. Great review. We are always looking for good books to read at our place. It's tough because my 6 year old likes mostly non-fiction. I think he will really like older age level books but they don't have pictures in them. I have to convince him it's worth just listening to!

  3. I like the idea of sharing a book during the week. That will totally help keep me motivated reading to the little guys this summer. And this book sounds so adorable. I've got to check it out too.
