Photo Challenge: Getting in close

Here is my next submission(s) for Alicia's Photo Challenge.

Imma Momma

This time the lesson was about "Getting in There" so everyone knows what the subject of your picture really is and to help you not be afraid to get up close and personal.

Once again I had a hard time picking one. So here are my submissions for this challenge.
This first one was taken when we made an impromptu stop at a lake near our home. The kids, of course, wanted to get in the water; so we rolled up our pants and had fun. This is one of my favorite pictures from that night. It is my son's foot, all dirty and wet. I could have, and I did, take a picture of his entire body but something about this just captures the moment. The rock, the sand/dirt, the wet pants... the feet that will not be this size for long.

A little trick I have learned is to not cut off someone's body at the joints. I did not cut off Lucas' body at his knee but a little below it. If you cut off pictures at joints it just doesn't look quite right.

This is my next submission. This is my daughter Alex with one of my friends' babies. Alex LOVES babies and always wants to hold them. The baby really wasn't terrified most of the time but somehow I got this! If I had been zoomed out or further away then there would be distracting background and even more of their bodies, but it was their facial expressions and their interactions that really tell the whole story and is what matters.

*Oh-and once again no PhotoShop involved in either picture*

So enjoy! And check out Alicia's Photo Challenge! It is fun!

  3. What cute pictures! I love how you aren't using Photoshop either. It takes a good photographer to have a photo look good without Photoshop!
