The Pressure Builds

Okay-this week is just going to be insane. This is the week of the musical that our stake is producing. I tried out for a singing role, read about it here, made call backs, but not the final slot. However, the guy that composed the music knows that I play the flute and asked me to be in the orchestra for the show. So while I didn't end up on stage like I hoped, I have enjoyed dusting off my flute and playing with the orchestra. The show is going to be AMAZING! If you live in the Southern California area and want to attend e-mail me for info, it is so powerful with wonderful original pieces and a story of hope, Jesus' last week or so of life and of His love for us, and it's FREE. It seriously is going to be amazing, and I am not just saying that since I am part of it. Since this is the show week I am feeling the pressure.
Lucas took this picture--they have seen me doing this a lot lately

We have practice or a performance, every night this week, except tonight. And to top it off I just seem to have a million other things going on this week. Here is my schedule on Thursday.

7:00 AM kid wake up (yeah right they will be up by 6:30)
7:00-8:30- get kids fed, dressed and myself all dressed and ready to
8:45-10:00 drive to and attend Lucas' soccer class
10:00-12:00 entertain kids, clean house, get things ready for dinner, practice my flute
12:00 Lunch- very important for pregnant lady here
1:00-2:00 play/entertain/clean
2:00-3:00 QUIET TIME- i.e. mommy's sanity time
3:15-5:00 Primary Presidency meeting at my house
5:00-6:00 Make and Eat dinner with family
6:15-Leave for musical
6:45-9:00 warm up and Musical time-first night of show!

Okay typing it out that way makes me realize I do have a couple of hours each day to maybe breath. But for some one's day which usually consists of 1 maybe two things.. and then to have a week of this is just a bit overwhelming.

Plus to top it off, I realized that between my OB (apts every four weeks now), the perinatal doctor, who will once again tell me everything looks great but come back every month-argghh, and my cardiologist I will going to the Dr. every week this month. Actually this week I don't have a Dr.'s apt but next week I have two.

So while I will still be posting things this week I might be neglecting commenting on my favorite blogs a bit :( But I will be back in my commenting glory soon.

P.S The giveaway winner will be announced tomorrow along with February's cooking club reviews.

  5. that looks like one of my day's schedules. A totally unsolicited piece of advice.... When you do have one of those downtime minutes, sit and relax. Don't try to cram anything else into your already packed days. I actually love those days, because at the end of it, you feel so productive. Not that taking care of kids while gestating another one isn't productive.

  6. Yikes, that is a crazy schedule!!

I played the flute in middle school and high school. I still have mine as well, but a couple of the pads are bad, and I think a spring is broken. I pull it out and do my best to play it every once in awhile. The dog howls. LOL

  9. I totally relate to the 1 or 2 things per day on a normal day--sometimes my schedule is like yours and it's overwhelming! It sounds like the performance is going to be great! We have something similar in Vegas called "Savior of the World" but I'm not sure if it's original music or not. You are lucky to live in an area with so many talented people .... and lucky for them to be around you!

  15. Good Luck! When I was in high school I sang in the choir at the Oakland Temple Pagant. Everyone got to sing so it really doesn't say anything about my voice. Everyone else covered up my singing! How fun that you get to be a part of it.

  22. The flute was the instrument I wanted to learn to play in middle school. Unfortunately, my dad would only let me play the clarinet we already had on hand (from when he was in school). I am now living vicariously through you! Good luck! I'm sure you'll be awesome!
