Killing to Get into Heaven

Alex loves playing with her dollhouse. She loves playing mommy, fashion show and all things girly. But then she will "sword fight" and wrestle with the best of them.

But we have run into a problem; during her sword fights she will say "kill, kill, kill the bad guys.".

I have talked with her many many times about this not being appropriate and even about the sacredness of life.

I guess she is learning as the other day while playing I overheard this: "get the bad guy! Get the bad guy! Make the bad guy go to heaven. Yes, that is a good thing to say."

Hmmm, well I guess that is better.
She may look innocent...

  2. Good job Miss Alex! That used to bother me too...the "kill" thing. I tried to teach my kids to say they were going to shoot someone with a shot of love.

  7. I just had my Sprout saying the K word too while playing with his rescue heros. I like how you handled it and your daughter's new approach. The photo is priceless!
