Letters to Someone

It's Thursday! Friday is knocking at the door... and so usually by the end of the week it is time to thank some people for the wonderful thing going on. So this week I am combining my Letters to Someone from shortmama with my Thank you very Much Thursday from Kmama.
Family of Shorts

To Lucas School-
Thank you so much for letting us drive up and pick up our kids. It really is easier for me with two others in tow. And thank you for making it so easy and run smoothly.... Oh wait, you didn't. In fact on the day we were supposed to be able to drive up and pick up our kids the assistant wasn't there so all of us parents in the do not park, pick-up only zone had to get out of our cars and walk up and get the kids. Thank you for helping establish good pick-up habits for all of those kindergarten parents.
Thanks-
The Mom who really didn't want to get out of her car

To the Kindergarten Parents-
We all know how great of a job the school did with pickup on Monday, but let's not develop any bad habits. So two days later, when the system had been working right for two days, thank you for stopping your car and getting out. It really helps everything run so smoothly. And especially thank you to those parents whose time is so much more important than everyone else's and drive up in the other lane only to cut in line. I am so glad you are so much more important than the rest of us.
Thanks-
The Mom who actually understands how the pick-up lane works

To that one boy in Lucas class-
Yes, the child who sat next to Lucas at snack time on Tuesday, I am talking to you. Thank you so much for taking the note I wrote to Lucas and ripping it up. I am so glad you are already a little bully. Your mother must be so proud. So next time just keep your hands to yourself or I might just let you know what I think of you.
Thanks-
The mom who does not like kids picking on her boy

To Lucas-
Let's learn to please keep your hands to yourself.. i.e don't hug kids around the neck anymore. I don't want to be the recipient of a letter like this from another mom or your teacher.
Thanks-
The mom who really does love you and has taught you better than that

So go check out both Shortmama and Kmama's blog and link up with one or both, venting can be good for the soul :)

  1. I think it is so sad that super young kids are already bullying! It is totally at least 70% of the reason I homeschool. I mean life its tough regardless...why do some kids have to be so mean.

I'd be all over that little note ripper.

  2. And so it begins. Get ready for twelve more years of bullies and line cutters. I have been known to accost the line cutters and ask if there is a medical emergency they need assistance with. When they say no, I let them know that in that case, they should stay at the end of the line like the rest of us.

  3. We have had to drill Turbo(seven and a second grader) that hugs are not the way to greet his friends. A high five is a much better option, his friends don't shy away from a high five like they do an over enthusiastic hug. It's a slow process to get it through to him. Hope the rest of the school year is smoother for you.

  4. Oh Emmy, your pickup/drop off is so much like ours. People cutting in line, people leaving their vehicles. What the heck!?

Seriously, a kid ripped up a note from you?? Who teaches these kids anyway? *sigh*

  6. I despise the pick up lane at our school! First despite our having a tiny school the pick up lane isnt big enough. And then add to that the fact that the parents never scoot up! And then there are the ones who get out and go get the kids too...why? We are right there next to the sidewalk, the kids can walk to the vehicle and then I wont be stuck behind you and not able to get out while you stand there talking to your kid! Grrrrr! Thanks for linking up!

  9. Oh, what a loving kid!

I hate our school's pickup zone. Filled with moron parents that all think they should be out first. ugh.

  10. Bullies stink. I hope the teacher or assistant saw the bully in action. This experience opens the door to a good conversation with your son about how to deal with bullies.

I guess I should be thankful for the scary car lane supervisors at our elementary school. They wouldn't put up with any of that junk.

  11. I dread the first day of school for my little ones. Everything will be so new for both my son and for me. How frustrating it must be.
