Friday Confessional: Secrets

It's Friday, Friday! Yeah! I might not be around much today as one of my good friends is coming in from out of town and the house is a mess a little bit cluttery so I am scrambling to get it cleaned. But I had to take time to cleanse my soul with some good old fashioned confessing with Glamazon and Mamarazzi.
Photobucket

I confess:
  • I took a toy away from Ryder to get this picture.
which was in black and white as part of the collage yesterday
  • It was one of his brother's toys that he probably shouldn't have anyway, but hey I gave it right back after I got the shot I wanted.
I confess:
  • I would never give up my bed or bedroom for company... well I guess I shouldn't say never, but I just don't think I would.
  • Eric's parents often would give up their room when we had a little baby and there wasn't a better place for us... but I just don't think I could do it.
  • In fact in a lot of ways I find company visiting to be a bit of a hastle
  • (unless its company like grandparents who come and play with the kids giving me more free time)
  • with having to do extra cleaning, having extra people, trying to entertain everyone.
  • And I like my routine, I like my down time and alone time and that just flies out the window with company
  • But if you came to visit you would probably never know it as I get all my complaining done beforehand, put on my big girl panties and then end up having a great time and totally love having people come visit.
  • But you still can't have my bed.
  • And this confession is pretty timely since I have company coming today.
  • But well she never really reads my blog anyway-or rarely does-even though she is one of my best friends! Pshhh! So M. if you are reading this actually-I hope I just guilted you into reading my blog and if not, well then I can keep talking about you and you will never know-hehe I kid!
  • So I am off to clean. Head on over and link up your confessions.

  1. You are so funny, here it is at 7:30 am and I'm cracking up at your post when I should be back in bed catching another hour of sleep!

Good luck with your company and getting all your cleaning done!

  2. I think for kids we would give up our beds. Either that or make sure you have a guest room. My inlaws do.

PS. You big bully! Taking a toy from your baby. ;) haha.

  3. We've done the flight of the bumblebee to clean up and then said"Please excuse the mess--we live in our house." Never fails. I really should just tell them that what they see is as clean as it gets for us.
    Have fun with your company.

We don't give up our bed to company either. . .

  5. When you said Friday twice, I totally started thinking of that stupid Rebecca Black song that everyone won't stop playing.... LOL

  6. You are so funny. I had to laugh quite a bit at today's confessional. And Benjamin Franklin (I think) said visitors are twice appreciated. Once when they come and again when they leave. :) I hope you have a lot of fun with your friend, and that she doesn't make you give up your bed. ;)

  7. I don't think I'd give up my bed/bedroom for guests either! I love the poor sad little face Ryder made. He won't hold it against you, but it sure makes for a cute picture :)

  8. I am not a fan of having company over either. I for sure don't think I could give up my bedroom. I would be worried someone would snoop through my delicates or something. lol

  9. I feel the same way about company: I love to see 'em but can't wait to see 'em leave. I like to have privacy and down time, and that just doesn't happen with houseguests. I'd like to have a guesthouse....

  10. I've got company coming tonight so I completely understand. We have a nice comfy airbed for guests because there's no way I could give up my bed.

I love having company but I much prefer company that doesn't stay the night. I like entertaining, but I'm really over it the next day. Luckily these are guys visiting so they don't need much from me besides blankets and food. ;-)

  11. I wouldn't really want to give up my bed either. We have two couches and a guest bedroom, so I shouldn't ever have to! LOL

  12. I love that picture!

I don't give up my bedroom for company. I put the downstairs in the guest room and I've really slacked off on the emergency cleaning before they come, too. It's too much stress.

  13. I love the picture of Ryder. Hehe. Miyah's just getting into the tantrum stage and I want to video tape her tantrums one of these times. :)

I was doing the same thing this morning - cleaning my house like crazy because I had company coming over. They only stayed for a couple hours and they didn't even go into half the rooms I cleaned, but hey now I have a clean house! Pride is a silly thing, but effective in some situations. :) And I agree, I don't think I'd give up my bed.

  14. I am still chuckling at the "mean mom" moment to get that priceless shot of Ryder! Only because I know he was quickly made happy again, right? He's such a darling smiler!

Thanks for your comments on our blog... that accident changed my life. I am so very thankful for small (and BIG) miracles!

  15. i absolutely will never give up my bed. in fact, when sean's parent's stayed with brennan when i had max, i graciously blew up the aerobed for them. and then retracted and said they could sleep on my bed with blankets. then i told them they could sleep in my bed, but promised myself i would wash the sheets before i slept in it. i know, it was the crazy hormonal pregnant person...or me. whichever.

  16. Am I the only one in the world that loves having company?? I, like the blogger above, says to excuse any mess!

Adorable photo - love that you took the toy away for that shot!

  17. I know that exact feeling about company can feel like a hassle...its that loss of our routine and sense of normalcy that gets out of whack!

  19. Having company is a LOT of work, but the memories I have after it is over far outweigh the struggle to prepare.

  24. I think the universe has pulled the "take away my toy" trick, just for my response sometimes.
