Would You Hit a Girl with Glasses?

My sophomore year of college Eric and I had a class together, it was a biology class in a huge 900 person auditorium. The professor would project his presentation up on a big screen that we would dutifully take notes from... okay I would, Eric is one of those people that can just sit and listen and remember everything-drove me crazy! I would stare at the screen sometimes squinting as it was a little blurry. I tried on Eric's glasses and everything suddenly looked crystal clear.

It was then that I realized, I might need glasses too. I knew the day would probably come, both of my parents wore eyeglasses. So over break, my mom took me to the eye doctor and sure enough, I needed glasses to.

I stood there, looking at all of the glasses, plastic, metal, rimless, even bifocal glasses-though I definitely didn't need those- not yet at least.

How was I going to decide? I needed a friend's opinion. I needed a site like GlassesUSA.com, where I could upload a picture and try on glasses and even send my picks by e-mail.

But this was the year 2000- sites like this didn't really exist yet, there was no way to buy glasses online. So instead, I stood there by the wall of glasses and tried one pair after another. Finally, I found a pair I liked, a pair with a thin dark blue metal rims.

Now, I was all set-- the words up on the screen were no longer blurry. I could now dutifully take notes; well when Eric wasn't distracting me.

  8. I hate trying on new glasses. I have no idea what I look like, because I can't see! Hence the need for glasses. Sigh. :)

  11. I started wearing glasses when I was in 4th grade and have had them since. I'm now realizing that since I spend so much time on the computer my eyesight has gotten progressively worse. I guess it's time for a new pair!
