The Mall Santa

I first just have to say I am so so excited about everyone linking up for the Review Extravaganza 2011! (#RE2011) I have really loved reading all of the recaps and am meeting new bloggers in the process! If you have not linked up, you can read the rules here and you have until tomorrow (Tuesday at 11:59PM Pacific) to link up the first week- so there is still time! And don't forget if you link up all four weeks you get a bonus point- so hurry and do it!!

Oh and one more side note- there were a few who recapped who did not include the button, which is required for the point-- since it is the first week I will let it slide- but starting week two if you don't have the button in your post you will not receive a point - I need to be fair to those who follow the rules. If you don't know how to include the button- please please email me (emmy (at) emmymom2 (dot) com) and I will happily help you.

Okay enough business.

Yesterday we took the kids to see Santa.
.......
......
......

Yes, this is where the picture should be. But you see I did not want to spend $22 for the picture package (which included 1 5X7 and 1 4X6)

And I had my camera- actually Eric had it at the time... but I guess our guilt won and we didn't sneak a picture.

Santa was amazing- kind, not scary, awesome blue eyes and the best real beard.

Alex sat on his lap, Lucas gave him high five and Ryder starred at him from the safety of my arms.

Wishing I would of snuck a picture.

I did get a picture of this thoughthat package of wonderful, yumminess, going to kill my stomach, treats came from our landlord.

Yep- he stopped by the other day as he wants to plant some fruit trees in the backyard (yes please) and gave us that!

Yep, best landlord ever. Makes me always want to rent a house, though we probably will anyway since we move so much.

Tomorrow I will be back with a tutorial on these pillows- so easy!
I am NOT a sewer (read I had to have my mom load the sewing machine for me) and I could make these.

Have you seen Santa this year?

  1. Super cute pillows!

We see Santa at the free little house in town. It's cold and not decorated well, but the kids get the opportunity to see him and I get to take my own pictures. Win-win!

  2. I thought about taking Allison to see Santa but she will think its her PaPa. My dad has a Santa suit and dresses up every year to bring the kids their presents. And she knows it her Pa. Every time she see's Santa on TV she yells its PA!

I love awesome landlords. Ours usually gives us a $100 of our rent back every December. He's awesome :)

  3. I know, isn't it so expensive just to get a picture with Santa! Honestly, we did do it last year because the year before, the boys looked scared to death in the picture! This year, I still haven't decided.

You did great with the pillows, what a great idea and a great way to save money!

  4. Oops, I meant we DIDN'T do it last year!

  5. We have not seen Santa yet...but I can imagine the packages are ridiculous! Can't wait to see how you covered the pillow!

  6. We didn't see Santa yet this year... not sure if we're going to make LB sit on his lap... My SIL said she felt like the worst mother ever...

Man! I kind of wish we had a land lord! That is awesome!!!! :)

  7. My son was traumatized last year with the mall Santa, so this year we just wave hello from the comfort of the stroller.

  9. I can't believe they charge $22 for a picture! I know Donut will scream so you can bet that I'm not paying money for that!

  10. I WANT THAT BUCKET OF GOODNESS!
Mall Santa's charging that much for a picture is HORRIBLE.
    RIP OFF!
I want your pillows. That sounds weird, but it's true.

  11. I seriously sucked in my breath when I saw that!!! I was sitting in the library.

Kristin went and saw Santa with her "Cactus" Buddy. A guy friend of hers. They like each other. Eeek! But they got pics. Maybe I will post that tomorrow. They look cute. We plan to go Friday.

  12. Wow, I didn't even know there were such wonderful landlords to be had. Yowza! You are SO crafty. Btw, I stumbled your Christmas trees and I'm glad they got a bunch of views because they're sure pretty!

  13. Our kids sat on Santa's lap for the first time on Saturday!! It was really cute! I might have to post that today . . .

And about the review extravaganza . . . I am so sorry I didn't do it. I totally wanted too, but I'm getting run over by my concerts and a birthday party tomorrow and I still have SEVEN things to sew before Christmas!! I can hardly think of blogging, though I do have quite a few things I'd like to post! This December birthday sure makes things crazy!!!

And about that goody basket. . . So jealous! ;)

  14. You should have snuck that picture! What's the worst they can do? Tell you to stop? You've already got your picture at that point. :o)

I wish we still rented. I REALLY miss having someone else fix everything that goes wrong. :o) Enjoy your fruit trees...if you stay there long enough, you might get to see them produce fruit!

  15. I am feeling a bit too cheap for mall santa as well! ;) And what an awesome landlord!!

  16. That IS a nice landlord! At first I read your sentence as saying you weren't a sewer...like a sewer sewer, you know? The pipes kind of sewer? Am I spelling that wrong? Anyway...I don't sew either! You actually look like one to me. Love those!

  17. Aw, no Santa pic? It really is ridiculous to have to pay that much for them, though. I wish they had some sort of "pay $5 to be able to take your own pic" option.

  18. Love the pillow, and nope not yet. Hopefully soon. =)

  19. I can't wait for the tutorial, and cannot believe how much they try to charge for those pics! Craziness! Well, at least you captured it in your mind, right? ;)

  20. I'm hoping to get a picture of all my kids with Santa this year. Amazingly, there was no line at our nearest grocery store, but that Santa was a little creepy and I stayed away.

  21. The pillow is darling!

I think that this is the first time I've ever heard someone say they love their landlord.
    They look like winners though.
    That's quite the gift basket!

  22. We rarely pay for the Santa picture either, I'm sure it will be horrible with Edy too this year.

So no, we haven't made it yet, but will soon.

  23. JDaniel will only wave at a distance at "Santa's friends".

  26. Santa is a scam!! Did you read my post about it?

    Your landlord is awesome!!

  27. What a lovely landlord you have! My landlady like scoffed at the fact that I even sent her a Christmas card last year (needless to say I won't be sending her one this year).

Remember when pictures with Santa were free? What happened with that?!

  28. My kids are freaked out by Santa. I would have totally taken a picture...sneakily ;)

  29. I wish I could focus on the Santa part of the story, but I'm stuck on your Santa like landlord instead!

  30. Wow … best landlord ever! Who needs Santa when you have a landlord like that?!

We attempted to see Santa but after 45 minutes and the line barely moving, we gave up -- and that was at the less busy crap mall!
