My Mother is a Task Master

My mom was here all last week.  For some that statement might drive fear into their hearts.  For me it brought joy.... and total fatigue.  You see my mother cannot sit still.  She is always ready to go, to do the next thing the next project.

She made me take my craft cupboard from this

to this.

And my junk drawer- yep had to clean that too.

Okay, okay- so these might have been projects I wanted to do and she might have actually been nice enough to help me out.  But if I dare sit down, she was saying things like "we have ten minutes what job can we get done next?"

But it wasn't just all work;

There was lots of park time
Fun outside

Soccer Games

Dinner with a funny bird

There was bike time- where both Lucas and Alex learned how to ride without training wheels
 Stories with Grandpa

There was dinner at Rain Forest Cafe while Eric and the boys were on a Father's and Sons camp-out.

There was mother's day with kisses from my parents

And look I got out from behind the camera and got pictures with my kids!

And there was even fun with my sister and her kids.  My nieces are both performers (cheerleader/gymnast and ballerina) the kids put on a little performance for us.
The performers
And here is their performance

And even though it is totally not Monday- she said it was okay so I am linking up with Elaine and her MissElaine-ous Monday.

  3. My favorite shot is Grandpa with the kids. Maybe because I have such a tender spot for my own dad and how he adores his grandkids. Glad you got time with them (and free labor!).

  9. Awesome! Our mothers are complete opposites! Mine would be happy just to sit and talk for 5 days straight. That is great that yours is so helpful!!! Organizing always makes me feel good, too. :o)

So are your parents the type to spoil the kids? It looks like they all LOVED having them in town!

  10. Ohhh, that SO sounds like my mom! Last summer when I took a week off for "holidays" she decided we were going to do much-needed yard work around my house and also wash my windows. I practically needed a vacation after my vacation!! All stuff that needed to be done, but she wasn't a big fan of me taking breaks! lol!!

YOu have a beautiful family! congratulations to getting pictures with your kids {I have yet to do that} and the performance brought back childhood memories of when my sister, cousin and I would prepare for our family! Our last one was as adults 7 years ago... They loved that we made them laugh...
