Okay- I will be the first to admit it, I am a bit of a photo snob, but I think just about anyone who is a professional photographer probably is. You start to expect a little better, a little more. You notice the little details, you take the time to help the client get the best picture.
That is the reason I only order the bare minimum of school pictures. I know that if by chance in the few seconds that they take to capture my kid they get a good shot, well I can still get better. I do buy a few though as I want the class picture.
Last year when I got Lucas' school picture I was so happy, he looked great! It almost made me wish I had ordered more...
this year..
um yea- I promise he did not leave the house with two "horns"
Aww. As school pictures go though, this isn't all that bad!
ReplyDeleteHilariously hilarious!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteUp until about 3 years ago, my husband still got school pictures taken (since he was a teacher.) I scrapbooked them one year because I thought it was hilarious that he had these pictures through 12th grade, and then starting the year after he graduated college.
ReplyDeleteI really wish teachers would help in making sure that kids looked their best....and didn't have horns before they sat in front of the camera. The photo made me smile, though. My Lucas already has all types of crazy hair - you know his school pictures will be amazing. ;)
Oh my gosh!!!! That is FUNNY!!!!!!!!!!!!! Poor Lucas...now that has to go in the yearbook. I have seen worse though...those school photographers can't really be called photographers at all.
ReplyDeleteI have never ever bought Lexie's school pictures. The smallest package is always like $30 and you get 4 wallets and a 3x5. That's ridiculous. I take her to The Picture People (a cheap-o studio in town) and bring home 150 photos for $10. They look like school photos, but better because they take about 200 and you choose your favorite.
Ha ha oh the memories you will have looking back at this picture ha ha!
ReplyDeleteI've got some really bad ones of Kristin. When we lived in VA, they got pictures twice a year, and one of them you bought them site unseen! Yeah. Got some pretty snaggly ones that way.
ReplyDeletePS the horns hold up the halo. ;)
When my youngest was in Kindergarten his smile showed a really big front tooth. He was so upset at the way he looked he cried, "And it's in every picture!" Uh, yeah honey that's because it's the same picture.....HA!! It's fun to look back at those.
ReplyDeleteI wish I look that good when my horns come out! Lucas sure is a handsome boy!!
Best school picture ever!!
ReplyDeleteBest school picture ever!!
ReplyDeleteBwhahahahahah! That is hilarious!
ReplyDeleteOk, that picture is cute but mad me laugh out loud. :-)
ReplyDeleteLOL! I'm sorry but I'm chuckling...been there done that. =) Last year Elly didn't take her jacket off and I was totally pissed, but like you I only order the very least amount I can to get the class pic.
ReplyDeleteHopefully you can photo shop it! Ha Ha
ReplyDeleteOh! No! I wonder if he did it in the bathroom himself or if he got help.
ReplyDeleteI love the look on his face! It'll be a memorable picture, that's for sure! :)
ReplyDeleteTeddy's school has pictures both in the fall and in the spring. Fall pics require SSA, but for spring pics, they can wear whatever they want. And in both cases, I wish I hadn't had to pay for the pics before seeing them. In the fall pics, it wasn't the picture that was so bad as much as the fact that we'd had his name printed on it and instead of Teddy, it was Ted Du. Yeah. That's what I wanted to send out to family. The spring pics were just funny. He had an inset picture and he's standing with his thumb under his chin, looking like his trying to push it up through the bottom of his mouth. I'm just curious what he'll come up with this year! :)
i never buy school pictures for fear of them being awful i remember mine always were
ReplyDeleteCome Say HI
Haha I love the horns!
ReplyDeleteI know what you mean about school photos. I don't buy them if they are awful. I think with so many children to photograph, they don't get the best picture they can. It's understandable with so many kids to do but it doesn't make me want to buy one! I have stopped getting them if they aren't any good and I wont let myself feel guilty about it!!
ReplyDeleteHahahaha!!! Oh my gosh, Emmy, I'm laughing so hard right now. I just buy the bare minimum too.
ReplyDeleteActually, I bet you'll be kind of glad you bought these pics, because they are priceless :)
Too funny! My junior year picture was awesome...except for the fact that my eyes were closed! Bummer!
ReplyDeleteAhahahah......oh man. Seriously tough. They couldn't comb that down?? I mean really. He is still adorable though, but you crack me up...two horns!!
ReplyDeleteHis are still way better than mine EVER were!!
ReplyDeleteIt is hilarious. First really good laugh I've had all day.
ReplyDeleteThat. Is. AWESOME!!!
ReplyDeleteHaha! Oh, but that picture is SUCH a keeper!
ReplyDeleteEvery picture of Lucas is adorable!!!! Horns or no horns :-) Save this for his wedding reception slide show! hah!
ReplyDeleteHorns aside, he sure is growing up! Love you Lucas.
ReplyDeleteOh that's so cute!! I love it!
ReplyDeleteI love it!! That is totally a typical school picture! My daughters are this week and it's also spirit week for homecoming... I can't wait to see what crazyness shows up in the pictures this year!
ReplyDeleteHilarious!! :)
ReplyDeleteYou MUST buy this … it is classic! I love it!
ReplyDeleteI'm dying! Henry's turned out horrible this year too... and I just decided to keep it, forget the retakes because these horrible ones will be just *that* much more funny in 20 years!
ReplyDeleteOh friend, I am not laughing AT your son but that looks like something that should be on a photographer's what NOT to do list. How could they not fix that for him. We've gotten some crazy little details too if their photos happen after recess, but sweet Lucas takes the cake on this one. Good thing he's so handsome anyway. Too funny!
ReplyDeleteI think this is great! What an original photo! This will be a source of many laughs for the rest of his life. Everybody should have a photo like this in their photo journey. :-)
ReplyDeleteI LOVE it. These are the things that add good memories to life.
ReplyDeleteSuch personality! And in 15 years, that just may be your favorite photo of him. :) I love it.
