Near Death

Happy Monday morning!  Err if there is such a thing?  My parents are flying home today- so things will be returning back to normal here.  I have to admit I have taken full advantage of them being here, it was so nice leaving 2/3 of my kids home for soccer practice and afternoon school pick-up, they will be missed.

So, just wanted to leave quick funny with you while I try and play catch up.   And I had to let you know that TOMORROW will be the monthly Ten Things to Smile About.  Your chance to think back over October and find Ten things that made you smile, simple or big things.  Can't wait to see your lists- you can consider it a late birthday present to me ;)

Speaking of birthdays-- several months ago I overheard Alex playing.  She was playing with her Lego people, one of the people was sick and had broken their leg- which was going to require them to stay in the hospitals for hundreds of years.

"Alex, people don't even live for hundreds of years."  I interjected.
"For real?" she questioned.

"Yes, most people live only into their 80's.  The oldest person ever only lived to be about 113."

She paused, pondering all of this.

"Are you past your 80's?"

Yea- not sure what I should think of that.

Hope you all have a great day, and can't wait to see your lists!  If you don't have it done in time for tomorrow the linky will be open for almost two weeks, so plenty of time.

  6. Hi! I'm visiting from a comment you made at Dixie Creek Farm.

I love seeing how little kids play. My son is 4 and when he eats string cheese he makes a little family out of them full of all kinds of drama including divorce, babies being born, little kids fighting and grandpa dying. Hmmm that probably sounds a little grotesque now that I've written it out like that. But really, it's very cute!

  8. Aren't kids awesome with that brutal honesty. Ryan said 22 was old, and then when I told him I would tell Nicole, he changed his mind. But then, 15 is old unless his sister is in the car. hmmmm.

  14. My Granny is 97 and still going strong - I do love the fact that she asked if you were in your 80's although, I think she was more worried of the possibility of you dying than your actual age.
