It's My Stomach's Fault

So yea, I kind of feel like I just feel off the face of the planet and disappeared, it's all my stomach's fault.

I had finally had enough of the stomach issues I had been having on and off for over a week and went to the doctor.

Have I traveled recently?  Been to a hospital?  Visited anyone in a hospital?

No, nope and no again.

Any kind of history of this?

Not really and definitely nothing like this-- this awful unexplainable diarrhea.

So, antibiotics for me, a strict no dairy, bland mild stick with the BRAT diet and a referral to the GI doctor with words likes Crohns and Colitis being thrown around.

My dinner one night- jealous?
Plain Rice and Applesauce
The worst part is, I actually feel fine.  No stomach cramping, no fever, no headache, no kind of pain of any kind just, well the river runs through it.   It seems to be really bad first thing in the morning, sort of stops during the day and then again at night.  See really weird huh?

The worst part, I cannot get into the GI doctor until October 14th.

Yesterday things finally did seem to be starting to turn around and I introduced some protein (skinless chicken) into my meal as the fatigue from eating next to nothing was catching up to me fast.

From everything I have read I am definitely leaning towards Colitis and this is just an extreme flair up.  I will be glad when I finally get to the GI Doctor and hopefully get some real answers.

Until then, if you want to lose a pound a day I have a really great "diet" for you.... oh wait, trust me you don't want this.

Oh did you all realize that tomorrow is the last Tuesday of the month??  One of those weird months where it falls kind of early, but there still will be Ten Things to Smile About, so please come link up and I promise you diarrhea will not make my list!

  3. Oh no. I'm so sorry! I hope that you can get some answers and start feeling better soon. I have stomach issues too, and it's definitely not fun when they are acting up like that.

  4. Oh yuck! My tummy makes me unhappy from time to time too. I have to really watch what I eat and I think I may need to get into a GI doctor as well. So far, I seem to be able to manage with a good probiotic and lemon water. And I can't eat anything fun or I pay for it later. Clean eating for me! Good times. I hope you are feeling better soon!

  5. That does not sound fun at all!

A few years ago I had a terrible stomach virus that took me out for almost a week. High fever, aches, chills, and diarrhea. It was terrible... I was so thankful that my brother and his family were here to visit and took Andrew for the night for me because I couldn't take care of him at all much less myself.

  10. I hope the meds do the trick and that you and the GI Doc can figure it out. Too bad you have to wait til the 14th. Such a pain. Here's hoping everyday you can eat a little bit more.

  14. Aw honey, I'm so sorry! I went through this in college. They said it was IBS, and I lost a ton of weight and got accused of having an eating disorder by my supervisor at my part time job!! I was like umm if I could eat something other than rice, applesauce or toast I'd be so happy!! I actually was plagued by what I deemed a "nervous tummy" for years after, and it wasn't until I met Match that my tummy issues all but disappeared. They still flair up once in awhile (pregnancy= major digestive issues) but it's a lot better. I am glad you don't have stomach cramps at least. Mine used to wake me up in the night. It was so bad! I hope you find answers. I don't know if you're under any stress, but that seems to be a huge trigger for me.

  17. I'm so sorry, Emmy! That sounds awful! I'm glad you don't actually feel sick, but still....zero fun. Maybe it'll right itself with the antibiotics and you won't even have to see the GI doctor. I'm sure that one will have all kinds of fun tests for you...yuck!

  20. So sorry toots. My Dad and Grandmother suffer/suffered from Colitis. I hope that is not it. Maybe your Gallbladder too. Anxious to hear what they say. Isn't it always the way of the world that you feel better before your Dr. appt?
