Celebrating Our Country

I stare at the blinking cursor, wondering what to write.  I begin many different posts then delete what I have begun.   I am just unsure what to say.

These last couple of weeks have been monumental, they have made me stop and reflect.

They have made me grateful for our county and the rights and freedoms we have and also terrified as I fear for the direction we are heading.

I try my best to love all, to be kind. I truly do believe that we all children of a loving Heavenly Father and because of there is a plan.  There are absolute right and wrongs, there is something so much more we should all be striving for.

I know everyone does not believe as I do and I don't expect everyone too, I just hope that I will always feel free and safe to live and express my beliefs and things I know to be true.

So as I celebrate the fourth of July this weekend, it will mean a little more, I will think of it all little longer, our country is worth fighting for.
Oh, thus be it ever, when free men shall stand
Between their loved homes and the war's desolation!
Blest with vict'ry and peace, may the heav'n rescued land
Praise the Pow'r that hath made and preserved us a nation!
Then conquer we must, when our cause it is just,
And this be our motto: "In God is our trust!"
(The third verse to our nation's anthem)

  1. We do live in an amazing country. We're definitely not without our problems. And sometimes the freedoms we have lead to things I don't agree with, but I'm still glad we live somewhere where we have those freedoms.

  2. The 4th of July is always a great time to reflect on our freedoms we are so fortunate to have.
