Going to the Zoo

One of the great things about living in Southern California is there is definitely a lot to do. My in-laws came down from the frozen tundra (Utah) for Thanksgiving and we showed them what a beautiful San Diego day is like. The animals thought it was beautiful too and were more active than I have ever seen them! Especially the big cats, every single one was walking around, growling, jumping on up the trees, it was awesome! We even saw not one, but TWO kola's awake, a pretty amazing accomplishment since they sleep almost 22 hours a day.

This monkey didn't want us to go away and was seriously performing for us trying to get us to stay.

My mother-in-law and my kids--they love Mimi!

The bus tour was definitely a favorite, espeically after lunch when we were all full and tired of walking. It was a great day... and a day that makes me not miss the white fluffy stuff at all.

  1. I love the Zoo, any and every zoo but that one is a ton of fun. It would make me not miss the snow at all too.

  2. I'm with you, girl--snow is fun to visit, not to live in! Looks like you had a grand time!

  3. So I have no snow and nothing to do...but I have goats. I like goats. I guess I'll be happy with that. :)

It looks like you had a wonderful time.

  4. Looks like fun!! It's like WAY to cold to go outside around here much less the zoo.

  5. How delightful! Outings with the grandparents are always such a treat. I have heard such great things about the zoo there... possibly one day I will visit. and the short sleeves pictured are making me jealous. But not too much. I do need a reason to drink all this hot cocoa. :)

Yes,California offers many things to do. If you want to visit the snow, it is no more than an hour away.

Be careful, this place can really grow on you.

  12. Glad the monkey did not fling any poo.

Love the cats! WOW! Very cool. Now I know when to go.

I have always thought(still do) that Alex looks sooo much like you. But sitting in Melidee's lap I can see Melidee in her face too.
