Happy Birthday--NOT!

I got a phone call yesterday from pre-op at the hospital. They were calling to talk with me about my upcoming surgery tomorrow (or today). I informed her that I had my baby prematurely while in Utah, so obviously wouldn't be needing the scheduled c-section.

"You did?" she questioned. And then continued to question me about it.
"Yes, I just went in last week for my post baby six-week checkup."
"Well, I am going to call *** and tell her what you told me."

Yes, that is really what she said. She might have well have said "Your lying and I'm going to tell your mother. "

After I got off the phone I chuckled a bit. Why would anyone lie about having a baby early? Would any woman seriously want to keep her baby in longer when they are huge and ready to pop? I haven't heard anything back, so I guess she confirmed my story.

So yes, today was supposed to be the day... today at 7:30 AM Ryder was supposed to be born, but he had different plans almost 8 weeks ago.

So in honor of his "birthday" I worked hard and finally got all of the pictures edited from our latest photo shoot. I am taking full advantage of his extra long new born stage. I figure if he can keep me up extra long like a newborn, I can take extra pictures of this newborn.

  1. I love your first photo. So sweet!

And it's kind of funny (in a sad way) that the hospital didn't fully believe you when you told them you had already delivered the baby. Who would lie about that?

  2. You'll think about this being his almost birthday every year! People can be so un-smart at times. Like you would try to cancel your c-section if you were still pregnant. haha

I love your latest pictures. The hand one is so amazing - beautiful and he sure looks tiny in Eric's arms. Where was Lucas?

Someone needs to take photos of you with him now.

  3. That's funny! It's not like you were calling the dentist to try and get out of an appointment to have a cavity filled! Babies have to come sometime!

  4. I remember you had your c-section scheduled for July 1st.

So glad he is here and we get to enjoy all his beautiful pictures though!

  6. Gorgeous! I can't believe you had the energy to do these!

This was the first time I've seen your full name. We were going to name Kyleigh "Emily Kathryn" at one point. It's beautiful. It got changed to Kathryn and then ended up Kyleigh. Don't ask why, I still don't know :-)

  7. I don't know how you resisted going up to the hospital and saying "SEE! Does it look like I need that C-section?????" You should have said "Nope we just want to slice him out right here at home to save a little money, thanks though!" LOL! Glad your little guy is healthy and home! Jayce will be 2 months old on the 4th and I can't believe it! I bet Jayce would look huge next to Ryder (and he isn't a big guy either!) Such beautiful photos! He is a little doll baby!

  8. I agree with Rachel, in Eric's arms Ryder looks even tinier. So cute. I love the one where you can just see his head in Eric's hand and there is that tiny hand wrapped--or trying to wrap around Eric's finger. So precious.

Just tell me that lady isn't blond. We have enough grief! LOL

  19. I think that woman must have been confused. Her past job must have been as a hotel clerk, and she thought you were cancelling a reservation with less than 24 hours notice. If not, then I don't know what she was thinking!
Beautiful pictures! I love the one of him yawning, and of his hand compared to Eric's. AWESOME!!!

  20. Too funny that she thought you were lying about it!! Jeez!!

And I just love those photos ... the big yawn one is great!

  21. OH! And what is up with the crazy lady thinking you were lying about having your baby early? Did she think you were just gonna take your medical care in to your own hands and take your chances with a vbac! Genius!

  22. These are unbelievable!!!! (When you said you had them on your main blog, had to come check them out.) Are you shooting against a concrete wall or did you add a texture? I LoVE the one of the hands.. amazing. I didn't grab these when baby A was a newborn, now I'm regretting that.. ):

Keep up the great work! I'm so glad he seems to be such a fantastically laid-back baby. (:
