No Joke-Shouldn't Have Told Them

I got a text from my brother-in-law this morning telling me my little sister was pregnant. I quickly texted back saying congrats only to send a second text 3 seconds later saying, wait it is April 1st.

So yes he got me.

So it was my turn.

I told the kids they never had to go to school again.

"Wait, what why?" they both said disappointed (made my heart happy)
"April Fools!"

"There's a fish in the toilet!" Alex immediately said. "April Fools!"
"You never have to make breakfast for us again, we will always make it for you." Lucas chimed in. "April Fools!"
"You never have to put us to bed.... April Fools"
"If I see someone with tie shoes, I am going to tell them their shoes are untied" Alex added.

And well this went on for a while.. until they got distracted watching a show.
Maybe I shouldn't have told them.

But well it's no joke that today is my sister-in-law's birthday! Happy Birthday Raelynn!! Love you and wish we lived closer.

And it's another lady who I "know" birthday. No joke-it's Mamarazzi's birthday, and she is 40 this year!! So Happy Birthday Mamarazzi.

Head on over and wish her happy birthday!

  1. LOL! My kids are going to drive me crazy today. Mom! There's a fish in the sink. Mom! There's a lion behind the chair. They're so funny at this age, what they come up with to try to trick me!

  3. My kids don't know about April Fools day and I don't mind a bit! Unless Todd tells them, it will probably stay that way for awhile. :)

  5. Your morning sounds a lot like mine. hahaha. I like the shoe one from Alex. That girl is a pistol! haha How about telling your husband his fly is down? You know they will look! My Grandma Lourene called...CALLED my Grandpa while he was at work and told him his fly was down. After she got off the phone, she said, "I bet he looked!" LOL

  6. If MacGyver gets home in time, I'm going to leave a faked positive pregnancy test in the bathroom for him to find. It will be hilarious.

    Your kids are adorable.

  7. We avoided the barreling of April Fool's this year, but I know it's only a matter of time until Bear has his own slew of one liners like your
    gang. I almost can't wait!

  18. How cute that they were disappointed about not going to school!

My kindergartener drove me nuts with April Fools stuff. So, when he asked me if we could go get ice cream, I said yes...April Fools!

    I know, I'm so mean.

  19. Ugh, my kids tried to play jokes on us all day! DaddyO and Lily got me though! They got home from soccer practice and he was yelling and she was crying. Something about broken glasses. I stayed calm and just asked Lily a few questions before she couldn't hold it in any longer and blurted out "April Fools!"
