Proud Mommy Moments: The Dishes

It's Thursday! In case you are new that means it is time for Proud Mommy Moments. What are Proud Mommy Moments? It is a weekly meme (every Thursday) that Kmama and I host together. It is your chance to tell about those things that make you just so proud- your free pass to brag away-- or tell about those moments that make you so "proud"- i.e. totally embarrassed but hey, it's funny after the fact right?

So grab the button (just copy the code below the button) link up to your Proud Mommy Moment post and enjoy! And remember only link up if you are participating in Proud Mommy Moments.

"Time to go unload the dishwasher" I reminded Alex.
She went right over to do it. I smiled, happy with how well our new family economy system was working out.

It was so nice not having to do it all myself and nice not having to remind the kids a million times as that was part of the system.

I heard the silverware cling into the drawer. I came into the kitchen to help clean up a few things.

"What are you doing?" I squealed.

There was Alex putting away the silverware....
with her mouth.

She looked up at me confused wondering what was so bad about her new cleaning method.

I quickly grabbed all of the forks from the silverware drawer and put them into the sink and we had yet again another little talk about germs.

Ah, so glad to have such great helpers.

What is your Proud Mommy Moment this week?

  2. Haha love it.
I am proud that the kids have been helping to pick up their messes instead of mommy doing it!

  4. At least she tried.
Washing the dishes is one of my daughter's jobs. Sometimes she does a great job, other times not. It's frustrating, but it's still 1 less thing I have to do.

  5. Darn. I just can't figure out how to do it. It's on my blog but, the link doesn't show up as anything. :( I am learning....slowly.

Okay. I figured it out. Okay, I lied. My husband helped me. It has to be on HTML when written it out. :)

  8. Oh that is so hilarious. Not so much for you, but for me. :) I can't wait until I can {hopefully} trust my daughter to help me with the dishes. It will be so nice!

  9. Yikes! That's so funny. I probably would have freaked out a bit!
My proud mommy moment this week is that my 6-year-old has started making breakfast for us by getting some things out and putting them on the table. This morning my "breakfast" was a bag of brussel sprouts! :)

  15. haha! And that's why I can barely let my kids help with anything. I'm too uptight! I wonder how many things like that happen that we don't catch . . . :)

  17. HA! Yeah, that sounds about right. I've had to remind Punky a few times not to wipe her face on the dish towel while she's putting away the dishes. Shudder.

    Hilarious.

  18. This sounds all to familiar! My daughter very much so enjoys acting like the dog! I have found her a few times using her mouth for things! Got love those moments! Thanks for sharing!

  19. Just trying to make a boring chore fun... lol!

  20. Oh no! I'm proud that you didn't scream & yell cause that's what I probably would have done. And then therapy's involved and that's never good. ;)

But...she might be my little sister. My dad's idea of doing the dishes is licking them "clean" and then putting them back in the drawer! I've even seen him do it with plates! Gross...and he's totally offended that we wash dishes & utensils before eating at his house. Really?!?

  21. Maybe she's trying to tell you that it's not a good idea to ask her to help, lol!

  22. Don't you love how kids like to reinvent the wheel when helping out? Too cute!

  23. LOVE that! Seriously, who else thinks of doing things like that, out side of kids?!
