We found the Holy Grail!

Wait, don't leave- yes you made it to Emmy Mom's blog-- just a whole new look. What do you think? I used to love my old design and it was still great, I just get itchy and needed something new. Plus I just wanted a little cleaner look. Don't forget I have my new button over on the sidebar to go with my new look that you can grab.

Are you ready for some exciting news?

We found the Holy Grail!!

This weekend Lourie (CA Girl) and I were out thrifting and we could not believe our eyes!We found some other treasures too, like a shirt Lourie bought for herself that is not too friendly with the girls. Or the skirt she bought for her daughter that doesn't fit. Or the dress she bought for her other daughter that is too short.

Dang.

Good thing we found the holy grail.

And had a yummy lunch at Panera Bread--
oh and did I tell you that Lourie had the exact same thing- she totally copied me.

I did find these adorable pictures for Ryder's room- at $1.48 each
And our trip to Tai Pan left me drooling over thisAnd we got our required pictureSo despite a few flops, it was an awesome day.

Do you thrift? (Is that even the proper use of the word? Or did I just create it and so am super cool and inventive?-- even if it's real just stroke my ego I won't mind)

P.S. TOMORROW is Ten Things to Smile About this month. I have loved how many of you have been linking up and looking back and finding ten things that made you smile in February. You can see some examples and more info here

  10. I should take a pic of me in that shirt. It's quite comical! I had fun despite the flops. The books were a hit. And the sweater...machine washable! I bet I can get the piddly little stain out. Oh and Ryan's clothes fit. Yay! We will have to do it again. And LOL I dreamed you went back bought the Holy Grail! hahahahaha.

I love that you had some success with thrifting. (See? I think I made that up too). I like to scope out the good will. Does that count?

  13. I LOVE the new look. I have been meaning to redo mine for a while. Who did yours? It really is wonderful. So clean.

I do not thrift, but I have a best friend that does and I live through her.

Umm...Panera Bread? Dying here, it's my favorite and there isn't one anywhere close to me.

  14. It looks wonderful here, Emmy!

I love thrift shopping. Well, actually I don't love it, but I like saving money so I do it and I love the saving money part.

I just don't like pawing through things that have been used. Yes, I'm a freak.

I used to eat at Panera all the time. I'd get their broccoli cheese soup. Yum!!! But I haven't had it in years now! :o(

  18. Oh, I liked the old banner - this one is kind of clean but a little colder.. the old one felt warmer... but yay for change! Love me some Panera, our neighbors franchised one and we get oodles of Panera goodies from them all the time! If you haven't tried the Mediterranean Veggie, it's a winner. So much that even my hubs loves it. I love shopping at thrift stores but with clothes, I get nervous that washing it isn't enough. Just the OCD in me I suppose.

  22. A friend of mine insists Panera puts crack in their bread so everyone's totally addicted to it. Methinks I agree. ;)

Sometimes we thrift. It can be fun to find treasures. I found the coolest cigar ashtray for Match at a thrift store in the shape of a blowfish. We've since turned it into a catch all for keys and stuff. It's so cute!
