Easter Picture Fail

I am a photographer. I love pictures.  I love taking pictures.  I know the little tips and tricks to get kids to smile, to get them to look at the camera.   I have the patience to wait it out when they don't behave unless it is my own kids.  I take pictures all the time.  When a Holiday rolls around, of course I am going to take my kids' pictures.

Halloween

Father's Day

Christmas

Random Day in Flower Fields

Oh wait that last one isn't a holiday... but anyway on most occasions I can get a good picture

And then there is Easter.

For some reason I cannot get a good shot on Easter.

There was this diabolical from last year

Not one to quit, I tried again this year.  "After everyone finds their baskets I want to get a few pictures." I warned ahead of time.

"Okay so everyone grab your baskets and come sit for just a few pictures"
"Miss- please smile.  The sooner you smile the sooner we can be done."
 Click, click, click
"Come on your brothers are losing their smiles now!  Please!"
"Yea! You smiled!  Wait Lucas, where you sticking out your tongue?"

"Oh I give up!"

Happy Easter

  7. I totally know the feeling. I just wish I had made an attempt in their Sunday clothes this year...I did get one with bunny masks though...

Your pictures are awesome and your kids are cute even when they are sticking out their tongues!

  10. It's great! My kids do the same thing... all I want is one nice picture of them together but that's a lot to ask for. Oh well.

  14. Haha, that's hilarious! My daughter is a great poser but my son is the exact opposite. He is either crying, throwing a fit or running away in every shot. It's tough getting kids to cooperate for the camera!

  15. Ha Ha- Those pictures are very cute!
Sometimes we just have to let perfection go & flow with real life :)

  16. Ha!! Too funny...I think from now on Easter should just be designated in your family as The Silly Face holiday. Better to embrace the madness than fight it! ;o)

  17. You know, that's how it is in my house for EVERY photo involving more than one kid, and sometimes just involving one of them!!

  18. It is funny to look back at these pictures and laugh. I tried to take pictures with my kids outside last night and barely got them to sit together and look at the same time. I'm hopeful that we'll get it right one of these days. hah. Cute kids!!

  19. Hahaha! Love the commentary that goes along with it. Your kids are quite the characters.

  20. Hahaha! Yep, that looks about right. I love that photo from Easter last year! Kam {my 4 year old} is at a rough stage right now for pictures. I was going through shots from our AG trip, and I have half as many shots of her as the rest of the girls! Silly girl, won't sit still {or look at the camera, or stop making funny faces!} :)
